Job Summary:

Perform complex analysis, development, testing, documentingand troubleshooting of software applications using a variety of programminglanguages and tools. Provide technical assistance and support to users ofcomputer applications across several disparate systems.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include thefollowing, other duties may be assigned.

Perform program analysis and design. If assigned, performsystem analysis and design which typically involved multiple programs and mayinclude database design; may be assigned management of small projects.

Write programs and procedures utilizing one or more of thefollowing languages and tools: CernerMillennium Discern Explorer (CCL), Cerner Millennium Discern Expert (Rules),Cobol/Lawson 4GL, Visual Basic, VBA, MS SQL Server Reporting Services, CrystalReports, Siemens Adhoc Report Writer.Application development also requires expertise in one or more of thefollowing operating system areas: MSWindows, AIX, Unix or HP/UX. Experiencewith FTP (File Transfer Protocol), LDAP, WSH (Windows Scripting Host) ishelpful. A good understanding ofrelational databases such as MS Access, Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server isrequired. Some programming experiencewith relational databases is required.

Participate in on-call schedule for off-hours support ofapplications. This job has nosupervisory responsibilities.

Job Requirements:

Associate Degree or higher in Computer Science or relatedfield is preferred; BS degree is preferred.

3-5 years of experience and the experience must be withlanguages and tools employed by EMHS for programming application developmentand support. Experience is in addition to education requirements. Must be subject matter expert in at least onecore application supported by EMHS Programming & Interfaces. Knowledge ofhealthcare and hospital clinical or management systems is required.

Excellent verbal and communications skills; must communicateeffectively to both technical and non-technical people. Must be analytical andthorough, showing attention to detail. Strive to continuously build knowledge& skills and share expertise with others.Organize and prioritize, using time efficiently. Must be good team player, able to work underpressure and with deadlines while remaining courteous and respectful. May be assigned to a regularly scheduledoncall rotation or be required to work off-hours for project implementation orsupport. While oncall or responsible for project implementation support, mustbe able to respond immediately and get to the office in 60 minutes or less, ifonsite support is required.
