A Feeding Assistant is responsible for administering food and other nourishments to residents/patients in accordance to their diet under the direction of a CNA or Licensed Staff Personnel. ESSENTIAL DUTIES1. Reporting the Percentage of food consumed to the CNA.2. Ensures that assigned resident/patient areas are clean and neat in appearance.3. Ensures that assigned resident/patient is prepared to receive nourishment.4. Reports to the CNA personnel any changes in behavior.5. Anticipates resident/patient needs to the best of his/her ability and reports those needs that mustbe performed by licensed staff or nursing assistants.6. Assists (only) CNA or Licensed Personnel in bringing residents to feeding area. 7 Focuses on feeding tasks. 8. Maintains constant dialogue with resident/patient and encourages, in a professional and dignified manner, the resident/patient to complete meals.9. Maintains a positive attitude and professional image.10. With education and instruction, may provide ambulation and transfers to appropriate residents.AVAILABILITY REQUIREMENTSVariable work schedule requires evening work as well as weekends and holidays.EDUCATION, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS1. Successful completion of an approved Feeding Assistant program.2. Must be able to read and write with proficiency to accomplish all responsibilities. 3. Prior experience is not required.4. Must maintain annual educational requirements.
