Job Details POSITION SUMMARY: Through EMMC Northeast Cardiology Research, cutting edge cardiac medical and device therapies are available to the people of our region. The EMMC Northeast Cardiology Research team is dedicated to providing patients with expert services to ensure that all research activity is ethical, safe and patient-focused. At Eastern Maine Medical Center and Northeast Cardiology, the Clinical Research Nurse will have the opportunity to collaborate with investigators, IRB's, and the medical community in order to implement, execute, and maintain clinical studies based upon specific protocols.

MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED: Registered Nurse currently licensed in Maine. BSN required.

PREFERED EDUCATION: Certification as a clinical research coordinator/professional preferred or required within 2 years.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: 10 years cardiac clinical nursing experience.

PREFERED EXPERIENCE: 5 years CCU and/or Cath Lab experience, previous experience in clinical research, prior experience working with Microsoft Word and Excel.

OTHER SKILLS REQUIRED: Must be a strong patient advocate and have strong organizational skills. Proficiency with MS Office products. Must possess excellent oral and written skills. Must have excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. Ability to work under pressure with precision and accuracy. Detail-oriented with the ability to work on multiple projects. Ability to function independently.

OTHER SKILLS PREFERED: Knowledge of statistical software package preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Visual acuity; above average manual dexterity; keyboard data entry; viewing computer monitor; able to communicate verbally and have auditory function to communicate by telephone; able to sit for >90% of the workday. Ability to travel via land and air, as necessary. Able to life 50 lbs unassisted and 200 lbs with assistance. Must be able to transfer a patient from a wheelchair to an exam table. There are continuous periods of standing, walking, bending and stooping.

Must have a high level of interpersonal and communication skills and be a demonstrated team player. Must demonstrate reliability and accountability to team members and patients.
