Job Details Job Summary:

Under the guidance of the Cath Lab Supervisor, the Cath Lab Technologist works on an independent team to assist the Cardiologist in aspects of cardiac procedures including diagnostic catherization, and permanent pacemaker placement. (The Cath Lab Tech will set-up, scrub for sterile procedures, be responsible for hemodynamic and radiographic data acquisition and quality assurance). The Cath Lab Tech will be responsible for assessing the physical, spiritual, emotional, medication administration and educational needs of the patient and coordinates a plan of care with other members of the Cath Lab Team. The incumbent performs duties and tasks in accordance with performance standards established for the job. The incumbent may have access to highly confidential patient, employee and/or Mercy proprietary information, and must handle & protect the information in accordance with hospital & system policies, HIPAA requirements and the highest level of ethical standards. The incumbent is responsible for reporting all security events, potential events, or other security risks to the organization. The incumbent is responsible for participation in and completion of all patient safety initiatives appropriate to the position, and conducts all job responsibilities according to the Mission and Values of Mercy Hospital.


The incumbent must have a Radiologic Technology license from the State of Maine (RTR) or be a registry eligible graduate of an accredited cardiovascular technology school.

Healthcare Provider/Professional Rescuer certified is required. ACLS certification within six (6) months of hire is required.

Two (2) to three (3) years of prior experience in special procedures of invasive cardiology preferred.
