POSITION DESCRIPTION
:

Responsible for the day-to -day operations of the Clinical Information System PowerChart applications.

As a clinical application analyst, works closely with the Millennium manager, departmental application/system analysts, domain lead analyst, clinical system application architect & planner, physician practices, Chief Medical Information Officer and e-Quest Director to maintain a stable and functional software application.

Demonstrates an understanding of EMHS Information Systems applications, specifically of PowerChart/PowerNote and how PowerChart/PowerNote integrates with all other applications. Builds and maintains files related to PowerChart/PowerNote.

Develops and maintains the policies and procedures required to implement and maintain the clinical application.

Coordinates tasks between the PowerNote, PowerChart, Orders, Documentation and Scheduling application analysts as they pertain to PowerChart/PowerNote functionality.

Responsible for assisting with system troubleshooting and maintenance, software updates and related testing. Participates in system testing and validation by assisting in the development and maintenance of testing protocols, and coordinates testing with end users when applicable.

Participates in the process design to support the functional and business needs of clinicians.

Works in a multidisciplinary environment to ensure that work flows designed for clinicians are appropriate and accurate.

Supports the implementation and maintenance of clinical information systems applications.

Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
: High school diploma or equivalent; associate's preferred. Experience with PC computer systems required. Knowledge of the EMHS Clinical Information System and a solid experience in a clinical setting preferred.

OTHER SKILLS REQUIRED
: Should demonstrate understanding of how endusers would maximize the use of the applications in rendering excellent customer service to patients, hosptial staff and phyician office staff.

Ability to interact effectively with endusers, peers, management and vendors in a manner that represents EMHS positively.

Effective communication skills and attention to detail, with effective follow-through and commitment to excellence, as well as the ability to provide clear and accurate directions and able to train others.

Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills with experience of working under pressure with precision and accuracy.

Ability to cope with rapidly changing priorities and continual backlog of work.

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents. Ability to respond to the most sensitive inquiries and complaints. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and develop procedural manuals. Ability to make effective and persuasive presentations.

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Good working knowledge of PC hardware and Microsoft Office products; an understanding of basic networking concepts.

Ability to work effectively in a fast paced environment; a willingness to learn new skills and take directions from other team members; the ability to organize information and manage time effectively.

Must be able to travel throughout the EMHS hospital system with occasional variable hours.
