Job Details Job Summary:

This person will be responsible for the day-to-day supervision of clinic staff, clinical processes and other duties necessary for smooth, daily operations of the clinic, including knowledge of federal and state regulations. Collaboration, independent critical thinking and decision-making abilities are essential to this position. Regular evaluation of clinical staff, as needed and required.

Job Functions and Duties:

· Demonstrates effective leadership skills

· Maintain appropriate utilization of skill mixes, down staffing when appropriate, on a daily basis. Originates and adjusts the staff assignments with consideration of skill mix, staff ability, and patient acuity. Approves schedule (or delegates), granting PEP requests when able to cover positions with appropriate skill mix.

· Precepts new staff during orientation and beyond. Regularly functions as an Occupational Health Nurse, on the clinic schedule.

· Participates in special projects/studies in collaboration with the Lead Physician and Regional Director.

· Updates, implements and evaluates interventions according to policy, procedure and current practice.

Education and Experience

Active Maine RN license or eligible to obtain.BSN preferred.

At least three (3) years' nursing experience in Occupational Health or Primary Care setting required; demonstrated supervisory experience preferred. Must possess leadership skills, flexibility, exemplary clinical skills, organizational and teaching skills. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with providers and staff, to promote safe and efficient patient care.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

BLS Certification. Certified Occupational Health Nurse (COHN) preferred. Legible handwriting-requires excellent documentation and assessment skills as outlined in unit based orientation. Previous supervision and evaluation of staff preferred.

Supervision Exercised

Directly supervises all local clinical staff, to include staff for any off-site clinics.

Supervision Received (ability to act independently)

Direct report to the Manager of Clinical Services, while working collaboratively with all providers and the WorkHealth Regional Director.

Physical Requirements

Flexibility, dexterity, visual acuity, hearing acuity, able to work sitting at work station, using keyboard, working in front of a video display monitor, moderate walking throughout facility. Reaching and stretching intermittently are required for assisting patients. The RN must possess the degree of respiratory volume and upper body strength to perform CPR and other necessary patient care treatments.
