Job Details Provides day to day leadership for nursing staff. Responsible for the delivery of safe, effective, and quality patient-family centered care in the operating room and other areas of the perioperative services for all patient population. Supports the mission, vision, and values of the organization.

Must have a high level of interpersonal and communication skills and be a demonstrated team player. Must demonstrate reliability and accountability to team members and patients.

Qualifications

Minimum education required: Registered Nurse licensed in Maine or eligible to obtain. BSN Required. National Certification in assigned specialty within 3 years of hire. ACLS, PALS and TNCC

Minimum experience/skills required: At least 5 years PACU experience, Critical Care Experience. Ability to complete a comprehensive age specific nursing care to the population of patients within the assigned unit/area. On-call required.

Physical requirements: Sitting, Standing, Walking required. Must possess upper body strength, agility, and lung capacity necessary to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation. Capacity to concentrate in a busy and often stressful environment.

Working environment: Fast paced clinical environment. Participation in unit specific and hospital wide activities that promote self and staff development. Participation in the development of unit specific strategic goals that assist with the fulfillment of the Eastern Maine Medical Center mission and vision.
