Job Details Job Summary

The role the AR Application Support Analyst is to assist EMHS organizations in identifying and implementing process improvements in an effort to operate a "best in class" revenue cycle. This position serves in a key role to improve the overall effectiveness of revenue cycle policy, practices and technology platforms for all EMHS organizations.

The AR Application Support Analyst - Intermediate is an analytical and process improvement role with a primary focus of working on revenue cycle tasks directed by department leaders with the purpose of improving revenue cycle process outcomes. This position requires competency in revenue cycle, financial, business, clinical or other analytical skills with a focus on key performance metrics. The primary responsibility of this role is to assist in data and information needs to show both gap in performance as well as measurement of initiatives and tactics. The Analyst will serve as a resource for teams working on major, complex performance improvement efforts that affect multiple facility and clinical practice revenue cycle protocols throughout EMHS.

It is critical that this position be highly effective in delivering the services described in the Duties and Responsibility and work harmoniously with staff across EMHS. Effectiveness will be measured in terms of results, commitment to EMHS and customer satisfaction.



Education and Experience

·Bachelor's degree and at least 3 years of progressively responsible experience in revenue cycle operations

OR associate's degree and at least7 years of progressively responsible experience in revenue cycle operations

ORa high school diploma and at least11 years ofprogressively responsible experience in revenue cycle operations.

· Certified Revenue Cycle Professional Certificate within 3 years of employment

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

· Demonstrated experience in gathering and analyzing information skillfully, develops alternative solutions

· Demonstrated experience in diagnosing, evaluating and developing corrective actions for problems in revenue cycle operations.

· Experience with EMHS Software, data and business information is preferred.

· Detailed knowledge of Revenue Cycle, reimbursement, data streams, and auditing principles.

· Knowledge of business analysis techniques is preferred.

· Working knowledge of all functional areas of the revenue cycle, including contract and denial management, CDM and charge capture management, and strategic pricing.

· Working knowledge of Medical Terminology, Current Procedural Coding (CPT, HCPCS), Diagnostic Coding (ICD-9, ICD-10), and HIPAA ANSI codes (remark and adjustment codes).

· Excellent communications skills, both oral and written.

· Intermediate Microsoft software knowledge and ability to train/assist end-users.

· Ability to interpret an extensive variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schematic form.

· Creative and "outside of the box" problem solver is necessary for this position.

· Flexible and able to react to ever changing priorities.

· Customer oriented.

· Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively.



Travel Requirements:[JDJ1]

· 15 – 50% travel may be required.

· Employee must have a valid drivers' license and possess own transportation.



Essential Functions

People

· Actively participate in team huddles and meetings by way of sharing knowledge, requesting information, and recommending process improvements.

· Administer Access for Payer Websites for all EMHS PAS Staff

Service

· This position is an analytical role with a primary focus of working on revenue cycle tasks directed by Managers and Directors with the purpose of improving revenue cycle process outcomes.

· The position requires flexibility to perform under various revenue cycle initiatives.

· The Analyst-Intermediate will serve as a resource for teams working on major, complex performance improvement efforts that affect multiple facilities and clinical practice revenue cycle protocols throughout EMHS.
  • Assist with special analysis and projects as needed.

· This position requires excellent ability to write, type and edit correspondence, reports and presentations; to be well organized and able to meet deadlines; and be proficient with Microsoft Office products and database management.

· Provide expertise, training and education on utilization of system applications that support the business office functions.

· Analyze and implement operational processes to integrate and align technology to operational functions.
  • Assists in gap analysis and transforming data into useful information.
  • Update scorecards and other data tools to help provide actionable information.
  • Coordinate a collaborative process for the development of policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Work collaboratively with manager / director to identify best practices and help develop performance standards that can be tracked and reported.
  • Daily TRAC Tasks (prepare daily Payments, Adjustments and Revenue Reporting)

· Meet or exceed the EMHS performance standards as it relates to quality and productivity.

Finance

· Effectiveness of this position shall be measured in terms of assisting teams to achieve financial and other tactic, high quality output, and customer service satisfaction.
  • Performs root cause analysis to understand the business issues and summarize data challenges for all EMHS organizations.
  • Review and analyze Revenue Integrity functions to identify fragmented processes and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Work collaboratively with management personnel to identify processes that negatively impact net revenue.
  • Perform Month End and Year End Reporting and Report Analysis.



Growth
  • Attend[JDJ2] local, regional, and WebEx seminars to remain current in supporting the needs of Patient Accounts and Revenue Cycle activities.
  • Remain current in data analytics knowledge by attending various seminars and classes relevant to current business needs.
  • Maintains current knowledge of regulatory developments involving agencies such as CMS and MHA.
