Job Details Job Summary:

Under the general supervision of the Manager of Central Supply, the Distribution Technician is responsible for the inventory and distribution of supplies in assigned user departments to ensure stock levels meet established requirements. The incumbent performs duties and tasks in accordance with performance standards established for the job. The incumbent may have access to highly confidential patient, employee and/or Mercy proprietary information, and must handle & protect the information in accordance with hospital & system policies, HIPAA requirements and the highest level of ethical standards. The incumbent is responsible for reporting all security events, potential events, or other security risks to the organization. The incumbent is responsible for participation in and completion of all patient safety initiatives appropriate to the position, and conducts all job responsibilities according to the Mission and Values of Mercy Hospital.

Requirements:

A High School Diploma or GED is required. Post-secondary training is desired. Experience and training gained through one (1) to two (2) years working with patient care supplies or equipment is preferred. Must be computer literate to operate standard software and supply specific software. Excellent interpersonal skills are necessary as the incumbent interacts with employees in various areas of the hospital. The incumbent must operate independently and complete all tasks with minimal supervision from the Manager of Central Supply. Must be accountable as accuracy and timeliness in selection and distribution of supplies indirectly affects patient care. Incumbent has access to confidential areas of the facility.
