Job Details Mercy Hospital is looking for a part time ChiefMedical Informatics Officer.

We are looking for an experienced provider MD/DO or APP that has worked with Cerner.

The primary responsibility of the CMIO is to provide leadership and support for clinical transformation of physician-based healthcare services from manual processes to the implementation and ongoing optimization of ambulatory and hospital based Electronic Health Records. This position will serve as the operations executive for medical informatics across Mercy Health System of Maine.

The CMIO will lead the strategic and tactical planning, adoption, integration and management of clinical information systems initiatives across MHSM. The CMIO will serve as the champion for clinical information programs in support of patient care quality and safety through the use of evidence based standards and clinical decision support. This position reports directly to the VPMA, and is expected to work part time in his/her chosen clinical field. The incumbent performs duties and tasks in accordance with performance standards established for the job.

The incumbent performs duties in accordance with performance standards. The incumbent may have access to highly confidential patient, employee, and Mercy proprietary information, and must handle and protect the information in accordance with hospital and system policies, HIPAA requirements, and the highest level of ethical standards. The incumbent is responsible for reporting all security events, potential events, and other security risks to the organization. The incumbent is accountable for employee safety and will attend safety and loss-control training, engage in injury prevention, perform accident and injury investigations including conducting root cause analysis, and assist in returning employees to regular duty. The incumbent is responsible for participating in and completing all patient safety initiatives appropriate to the position, and conducts all job responsibilities according to the Mission and Values of Mercy Hospital.
