Job Details Cardiac Anesthesiologist

Eastern Maine Medical Center seeks board certified/board eligible anesthesiologists with subspecialty training in cardiac anesthesia to join our growing anesthesia service.

Our highly skilled physician group provides coverage for a broad spectrum of surgical cases; those with subspecialty training have a higher concentration of cases in their specialty. Due to a 300 million dollar hospital modernization/expansion project with further expansion of cardiac service lines (including TAVR cases) we are looking for 1 additional physician anesthesiologist with subspecialty expertise in cardiac anesthesia.

In addition, our highly skilled physician group provides coverage for a broad spectrum of surgical cases, including orthopedics, vascular, bariatric, thoracic, general, basic pediatrics, ENT, urology, OB/GYN and neurosurgery. Adult only cardiac cases are done by a dedicated group of fellowship-trained MDs, and are not shared by the general work pool.

Eastern Maine Medical Center is a 411-bed regional tertiary-care center serving a population of 500,000. We are in the final stretches of a 300 million dollar hospital modernization project ( and enjoy an excellent relationship with our hospital administration.

Our organization promotes a culture of patient safety and as such, candidates should be very interested in being a "perioperative consultant". Applicants must hold an M.D./D.O. or foreign equivalent with one year of internship and three years of residency, and a Maine physician's license (or immediate eligibility for same).
