Job Details Job Summary:

The Clinical Educator is responsible for assisting with the development & execution of educational programs and orientation of clinical personnel at Mercy Hospital. The incumbent will orchestrate these programs based on organizational priorities and will work in close collaboration with interdisciplinary colleagues to design and implement evidence based programs to support these priorities. The Clinical Educator is accountable for competency assessment and practice initiative that supports clinical and professional excellence within the nursing community of Mercy Hospital. The educator collaborates and serves on advisory committees of local universities and colleges. The educator collaborates with the Schools of nursing to support clinical and internship experiences of student nurses. The incumbent may have access to highly confidential patient, employee and/or Mercy proprietary information, and must handle & protect the information in accordance with hospital & system policies, HIPAA requirements and the highest level of ethical standards. The incumbent is responsible for reporting all security events, potential events, or other security risks to the organization. The incumbent is responsible for participation in and completion of all patient safety initiatives appropriate to the position, and conducts all job responsibilities according to the Mission and Values of Mercy Hospital.


Current registration as a Registered Nurse in the State of Maine. ANCC certification preferred. Maintains BLS certification. A Bachelor's degree is required, Master's preferred. Five (5) years of clinical experience, including two (2) years of medical/surgical. Experience in program development, computer literacy. Effective teaching and communication skills.
